Terms of Reference

The CLC will provide a communication forum for the Lakeshore East-West (Package B) construction project team and community representatives of area residents and businesses to proactively and regularly communicate and discuss construction activities and community impacts. The committee is designed to enable regular access to construction-related information, including schedule and timing information for local business owners, community groups and residents, through CLC representatives and discussions.

The Lakeshore East-West Team will:

• Provide accurate, understandable and timely information.
• Be open to feedback, give careful consideration to ideas, and report back to the larger project team.
• Adhere to all aspects of the Terms of Reference and Code of Conduct.

Community Representatives or Area Residents and Businesses will:

• Participate actively in regular meetings.
• Be open and receptive to ideas.
• Liaise and act as a representative of pre-identified organization/community/business or stakeholder group by providing feedback to the project team and formally communicating relevant information back to their respective groups.
• Adhere to all aspects of the Terms of Reference and Code of Conduct.

SAFETY MOMENT

Project safety measures in place:

• Weekly safety meetings and safety talk
• Safety stand-down scheduled for August
• Bi-weekly rapid testing suspended at the end of July
• MX general safety audit conducted with no identified issues

Project Overview

Expanding the Lakeshore East Corridor for the Future

The Lakeshore East GO corridor is Metrolinx’s second busiest rail line. We’re transforming this corridor to bring more trips along the line for those traveling from and to Toronto. Frequent GO rail service will offer more service with faster trains and seamless connections to a regional rapid transit network.

What’s Happening Now?

Metrolinx contractors, LS Lakeshore Constructors, are conducting preparatory work to widen the corridor and infrastructure to allow for a forth track installation between Pape Avenue and Warden Avenue.

UPCOMING WORK: LAKESHORE EAST WEST CORRIDOR EXPANSION – PACKAGE C

Upcoming Overnight Construction Activities:

• Hours: 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
• Five (5) days per week (Monday to Friday)
• Between Jones Ave and Coxwell Ave
• Will include:

1. Tree and vegetation removal

2. Excavation

3. Grading

• Residents can expect to see construction vehicles and equipment in the rail corridor and the surrounding areas, including pile driving equipment, dozer, crane, excavator, concrete trucks, and dump trucks.
• Noise, vibration, dust and site lighting can be anticipated.
