My daughter struggles significantly with hand writing. I have stressed I’m ready for them to move on and not focus on hand writing, but give her support with assistive technology. How do I have that written in an IEP? As an accommodation? What is the best way to have it documented and done?

Can a school deny you assistive tech( IPAD) if the school had an independent Assitive tech eval done and my child was found eligible by that evaluation and agency? The evaluator said he needs it and the school is still debating if they are going to allow it/provide him one.

My girls teacher thinks we should focus more on computer learning than writing and reading. I disagree. They are in 8th grade middle school. I have worked so hard for years to get them more verse in writing and reading. Am I over emphasizing the importance of this with our kiddos?

How do I explain and use the learning profile to benefit students with WS to receive appropriate supports and services in LRE? Using it as a handout without detailed explanation is not effective for professionals. They either don’t understand or worse yet misinterpret the information jeopardizing education opportunity .
Will you dedicate a webinar to help us explain the learning profile to professionals and how to focus in on typically needed services and supports?
Assessment, goals and objectives and social supports are of interest to me as well.

Maddy started middle school. We have AT in place (iPad) and a great team that would basically do anything to help her. Problem- she doesn’t like to always use the iPad for notes and such as she doesn’t want to look different. I’m thinking if we find the right apps, and she sees how helpful it is, she would be more willing. She is 100% mainstreamed on a modified curriculum. What apps, technology, etc would be useful and appropriate at this age?

If Ellie is getting easily distracted and doesn’t do work when left alone, should we consider a full-time 1:1 aide? Right now, Ellie shares an aide with 1 - 2 kids in the general Ed classroom. I’m not positive how the staffing is in the sped room.

The teacher is saying ESY isn’t necessary as they are not seeing regression after breaks. I worry because she needs routine. She also is learning time, money and to read. I worry she will lose what she has gained. Is it worth fighting for?

I am in need of the very basics of IEP's... My son has been in a private school since kindergarten and we are going to transition him in the 2020-21 school year to 7th grade, junior high. So, having never been a part of the IEP process, I am wondering what some of the most common/most important things I should be focusing on or are there any red flags that I should be aware of? I know we are over a year away from dealing with this but I want to make sure I go in prepared.
