Our project mainly focuses on getting the information from the deep underground of a planet or a object and letting us uncover the of buried details of any object or a planet.

Our inspiration was the InSight Lander Mole. We Studied it and made our solution a Drilling Probe to do the work done by the mole but work better with a high success rate.

We used NASA Goddard information and 3D library information to proceed with our device

We approached the challenge by analysing its background and had the idea of developing a Probe that will descend to the underground and help us understand the creation, geology of the planet or a object. We aim to solve the challenge by developing a Drilling Probe that will drill in a Planet/Natural satellite or a Asteroid that will help the future space explorers to understand the geology and many other things about it by digging it and analysing samples.

Our Full device consists 3 main parts.

  1. The Dock
  2. Probe
  3. Container

The Dock houses all the components of the device. Dock controls ascending and descending of the probe by the lifters located in the top of the dock.

Even if humans are not present, the Probe will descend from the Dock to the underground while making course adjustments along the way using its wheels. The Probe fills the container with cut soil and the container will ascend to the surface to put the soil away. After the container is empty it will return to the probe and attach with it .This process will happen until the probe reaches the destination.

Also we use Panels that will be slides into the drilled path by the dock to secure the path of the probe. They are also used to send data from the probe and supply the probe with its energy requirement

The probe can be programmed with emergency scenarios where it will act on its instincts based on the inputs that probe receives

We are planning to add more sensors to the sensor body in future with more enhanced features. Also we are expecting to plant a nano lab inside of the dock to analyze the collected data to identify living materials using biological indicators.

Also it is obvious that we should find some new ways to reduce the energy consumption of the drilling probe as energy is vitally important in space missions.

First of all, we identify the lack of successful methods to collect interior data of any planet/asteroid or a natural satellite. So, we think it is noticeable that we managed to fill that gap through our project designing a fully functional drilling probe.

We had the opportunity to unveil this technology that will be used in the future because of this tournament which will really give us a chance to surpass our intelligence levels.-Thank you-
