Welcome To Art Specialty

This is the second week of learning to draw a face. Last week we practiced drawing realistic eyes, nose, mouth & ears. This week we learn to draw the face in correct proportions.

As an Artist, I can draw a human face with correct proportions.

Materials:

  • Blank paper
  • Pencil
  • Eraser
  • Crayons if you want to color

Steps:

  • Turn your paper to a “portrait” alignment. (hamburger)
  • Follow the instructions in the slides for drawing a face. Remember that you will erase some of the lines and you will want to use light pressure.
  • Be sure to draw “guidelines” on your face to get correct placement for eyes, nose, mouth etc.
  • Erase extra lines. Add color if you would like, or try using your pencil to do some shading.

Draw LIGHT till you get it RIGHT.

When drawing with a pencil, use light pressure when you begin drawing. It will make the lines lighter and easier to erase. Then when you have the lines just right, you can darken them and erase the extra lines you don’t want to keep.

Follow these instructions to draw a boy’s face.

Follow these instructions to draw a girl’s face.

Choose to draw either a boy’s face or a girl’s face. Good artists can do both, so be willing to try something new to you.

How did it turn out?

I would love to see your artwork.

If you would like, you may take a photo of it and post it to my online Gallery.

Happy Creating!

Mrs. Remund

I drew the girl’s face, my son drew the boy’s face. Next I want to learn how to add more shading...

Joke of the week: What do you call an animal you keep in your car? A Carpet.
