After our first meeting s with the JEA Technology team, this is the mockup we came up with to get feedback that would guide us in the right direction for the final scorecard

Our main goal was to create a landing page that made it easy for VPs and higher-ups to understand how business is doing. Our first feature for trying to achieve this goal was to represent % progression towards the target goal because of the various target metrics that may make the visualization hard to digest. We also continued the color coding to indicate performance for each KPI.

After reviewing feedback on our first draft, we learned that representing the current values and specific targets was a bigger priority than progression towards the target. This feedback helped to further clarify how we should approach the project, so we then got into integrating the scorecard’s data into PowerBI.

Now that we have integrated the data into PowerBI, we then updated the design of the landing page to look like this.

To run you through it, Each strategic intiative lists out their most important metrics followed by a shape and color indicator of performance, their current value, target value, and base value. This design ensures that JEA’s business performance is easily digestible by higher-ups through the organization of information, use of colors, and overall simplicity.

Our design also incorporates arrow buttons that brings you to the drill down which provides a deeper analysis on the data. So if there are any metrics that need further analysis, you can just click the button and see more data and insights on the metric. We will now show you a quick demo of how the dashboard works.
