READ ACROSS AMERICA
WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH
Almost all states are linked to a read-aloud. There are a few exceptions where a story of a specific person could not be found (Iowa, Kentucky, Washington, and North Carolina) or a read aloud of a book could not be located and was replaced with a web article or YouTube informational video about a famous woman from the state - including interviews and book reports (Alaska, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Rhode Island, Utah, and Vermont). Most of the women in these books were born in the states they are linked to which is their primary connection, while others like Sue Hendrickson (South Dakota) made an important discovery or valuable contribution in that state. I hope you discover the diversity of America and the women who help shape it by exploring this map; dancers, teachers, pilots, politicians, judges, musicians, activists, adventurers, pioneers, designers, builders, and more are waiting to meet you. If the logo is next to a title, it is available in the collection on getepic.com.
