“You were disputing on the road.”

This was a shameful episode;

Jesus had heard their quarrel rage;

Their pride had taken centre stage

​

When Jesus heard their bitter feud

He taught a different attitude;

He taught with wisdom strong and new;

“In service, greatness shall shine through.”

​

“Whoever wants to be the first,

Who would be great must be well versed

In serving others - thus stand tall

And place yourselves the last of all”

​

We still hear Jesus’ words that test

All our ideas to be the best;

Can we perceive that lowliness

Will surely lead to holiness?
