  • Raleigh is an enthusiastic learner who works hard to complete her homework and classwork.

  • Student wrote & illustrated his own book
  • Student modeled the book after books he has read in the classroom, including a title page and back cover picture
  • Alfred always looks to create his own books and has even composed his own music!

Jihanna is a hard-working, smart, and inquisitive student, who loves learning and always tries her best.

Jihanna is always asking questions and is eager to find ways to solve problems. She takes responsibility for her learning by explaining her solutions.

Jihanna is exceptionally thoughtful and always shows kindness and empathy towards her classmates and staff members. She is a leader and friend to everyone.

Kindergarten

  • Asha is always showing Evans SWAG!
  • Asha is constantly challenging herself to learn new things, even when it is hard!
  • Asha is a good friend to everyone she meets. She is always helping friends solve problems and find solutions.

5th grade

RAKEEM BANKS JACKSON

  • He is extremely helpful and polite in the classroom. He has a great personality and gets along with others well.
  • Even when content is difficult he always tries his best and doesn't give up until he understands the material.

IDRISSA TOURE

  • Very bright student who catches on quickly to new material. He is willing to help his classmates that are struggling with the content understand the material.
  • Idrissa is responsible and we can always depend on him to do the right thing.

Rakeem and Idrissa are Co-Vice Presidents of Student Council. They always have great ideas to bring to Student Council Meetings and promptly share the information from the meetings with the 5th graders.

  • He has maintained High Honors in all subjects.

  • Triston is very responsible and takes on leadership roles in the classroom.
  • Triston is kind to his peers. He volunteers to help his classmates when they need help.

  • Will represent Pennsylvania as the Chief Technology Officer of the Year at the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN) National Conference as the candidate for the CoSN Chief Technology Officer – Withrow Award.

  • The first round of winners were awarded in February 2023.
  • Staff and faculty are nominated by their colleagues.
  • A panel of judges representing the WPSD community evaluate the submissions
  • Winners are celebrated quarterly and receive a plaque, $50 Amazon gift card, flowers, and balloons.
  • There have been 178 nominations and 23 recipients of the Employee of the Quarter awards.

Culture, Climate, and Engagement Surveys

  • In alignment with our Strategic Plan - Focus Forward 2025 - the District will conduct annual surveys to get feedback around school climate, culture, and engagement
  • Seeking honest, thoughtful responses from our students, staff, and families
  • The survey will be launched in March 2024.
