OYA 2025-2026 LCAP Goals

1. All students will participate in rigorous, relevant and engaging instruction aligned to 21st century skills to eliminate barriers and promote achievement.

2. All students will leave prepared for a successful transition to college and/or career as a result of premier programs, services and curriculum.

3. In partnership with community organizations and family members, achievement levels will increase by engaging students in a rigorous curriculum in an environment that is culturally responsive and safe.

  • English Learners performance growth on English Language Proficiency Assessment for California (ELPAC)

Goal 1: Actions/Services

  • Program and materials to support student learning: Edgenuity and Renaissance Star
  • Professional learning communities for teachers to design blended learning experiences, share expertise, and work collaboratively.
  • Develop a system to track and reward student positive progress toward goals.
  • Create contracts and provide professional development to improve student outcomes

Goal 2: Actions/Services

  • College/Career Liaison to provide direct services to students in college and career consultation, assistance with college applications, financial aid/scholarship applications, college campus tours, and bridge students to counselors and/or post secondary institutions.
  • San Jose Works study program assists youth and with financial literacy, work readiness, and job search assistance.
  • Work-Based Learning Coordinator will combine and coordinate the efforts of many individuals, assuring that work-based learning experiences effectively and efficiently help students develop knowledge, skills, attitudes, and work habits so they can move successfully into post-secondary opportunities.
  • Career Launch program will provide OYA students with a professional skills training program that equips students to succeed in the workplace and their careers.
  • College and Career Technical Education programs provide increased and improved services for students who identify as low income in the area of college and career readiness.
  • Monthly VTA passes to support students with transportation to and from school, work, and dual-enrollment college classes.

Goal 3: Actions/Services

  • Support transition of youth experiencing homelessness and youth who receive foster youth services.
  • Improve community outreach and recruitment, including family and community engagement events at all OYA sites.
  • Support Mental Health and Wellness personnel who will provide a multi-tiered level of mental health services and resources to students.
  • Inter Office Service Agreement with SCCOE Charter Department to promote a positive, inclusive, and collaborative environment.
  • Provide a well rounded, safe and healthy educational activity for students through a culinary arts program.
