The Spirit’s Testimony

Here John is referring is the Holy Spirit that fell like a dove upon Jesus at his baptism (Matt 3:16-17).

Jesus used the power from the Holy Spirit to perform miracles and proclaim God’s message. When the Spirit works in us it also testifies to Jesus being the Son of God.

Jesus referred to this as living water.“water” represents the the words of God. Both spoken by Jesus and recorded in the scripture. Words that revealed truth, healed, restored, brought dead things back to life.
