Our friend Antoni is stuck in the house! He wants to return back to his colony, but he needs to navigate through the bedroom, study, kitchen and yard to get to his ant hill.

Can you help?

The Bedroom

EW! This place stinks!

We need to do some sorting and help this kid clean up if we’re ever going to get out of here!

7 of 45

Match the clean socks to avoid the stinky dirty ones. Find pairs that have the same pattern to get out of the room so you don’t spend too long with these smelly feet!

Is it just me or is this pile getting bigger?

13 of 45

Whew! That was a big job. Let’s check out the next room- the office.

Ooh.

Fancy.

Let’s check out the desk.

15 of 45

Wow! The person who owns this office is an entomologist! They study bugs! Let’s check out these bug sculptures. We won’t learn about every bug but it will be fun to learn about a few before we go!

Lepidoptera-have four large scale-covered wings that bear distinctive markings, and larvae that are caterpillars.

Coleopetra-front pair of wings are hardened into wing-cases, elytra, distinguishing them from most other insects.

Phasmatodea- an order of insects whose members are variously known as stick insects, stick-bugs, walking sticks, or bug sticks.

Formicidae-body is divided into three main parts: the head, the thorax, and the abdomen. They have a hard, waterproof exoskeleton, which is made of a material called chitin. They are exceptionally strong for their size- They can lift 10 times their own weight!

Now you know a bit more about me!

Did we just become best friends?

I’ve got three main parts to my body. Your bones are inside your body, but my skeleton is on the outside, keeping me safe! I’d also like to point out that I’m super strong! I don’t even go to the gym!

Oops! That bug is great, but it goes by a different name. Try again- you’ll get it next time!

I’d like another try!

A lot of bugs use camouflage to keep themselves safe. Can you help me find hidden bugs so they don’t scare me while I walk across the yard?
