What’s happening this month?

Special Areas Schedule

We will be reinforcing our classroom routines and procedures as well as continuing to do many activities to build our classroom community and learning about one another!

Phonics: We will finish Unit 1 which reviews how to name, say the sounds of, and write the letters of the alphabet. Then, we will move on to Unit 2 which focuses on reviewing how to blend and read three sounds as well as how to segment and spell them. We will also focus on sentence structure and begin introducing trick words.

Writing: We will continue Unit 1 which focuses on personal narrative writing.

Math: We will begin Topic 2 which focuses on addition and subtraction within 10. Then, we will move on to Topic 3 which focuses on addition facts within 20 using different strategies.

Reading: We will continue Unit 1 which focuses on building and establishing good reading habits as well as working to read to make sure words make sense. We will establish these routines through reading books that are on their level from various book bins.
