My Topic:
Why am I interested in this topic?
I am interested in this topic because of personal experience, an I think it's very relatable in today’s times. I know lots of students an people who need motivation, that's why I was interested and wanted to do this topic/
What/Who is the community that I am serving?
The students of SSIMS.
(e.g. Food, Shoes, Video Games, Cell Phones, Math, Science, World Studies, Social Issues, Sports, Travel)
Guiding Question
(What I am trying to answer about my topic?)
Criteria A (i): define a highly challenging goal to address a need within a community, based on personal interests
What is the community need? Does your goal meet the need?
The need for students is motivation, confidence, and success. My presentation is all about this, how to get motivation, tips on how to improve your confidence, and ways to succeed. I feel like I have proven all of the needs.
Guiding Question: How can I create a positive impact/change for middle school students at SSIMS by creating an informative presentation about how to stay motivated and have a positive attitude.
My Global Context
My project falls under the Global Context of Identities and relationships.
because this global context is about who we are, motivation, confidence, succession, is a big part of who we are. They connect in our social skills, our ability if we want to succeed, our dreams and passions. Big roles in our lives.
Research- Prior Knowledge
Criteria A (ii): identify prior learning and subject-specific knowledge relevant to the project
What did you already know about this topic? What did you already know about the community need?
I had a lot of experience, and personal connections with this topic. Because it's a topic we all know, experienced, something we go through every day with our regular lives. I knew lots of people needed motivation during this year, because i've talked with friends, people, family about this issue. I've researched and seen videos talking about this topic. I knew motivation is the key to success, or the key if we want to succeed.
Research- New Understandings
Criteria A (iii):. demonstrate research skills
What research did you do to find information on your topic?
I read a lot of articles for each one of my slides. I watched some videos about confidence and motivation. The articles were written by professionals, doctors, real life experienced people, .gov websites that are credible too.
What did I find out?
I found out how to get motivation (tips) I found out how to gain confidence (video) I found out how to stay happy and how to have a positive mindset.

yes
Reflection
Criteria D (i): reflect on how completing the project has extended their knowledge and understanding of service learning
Describe and analyze HOW completing this project has made you more knowledgeable about this topic.
How does service learning help the community?
I think what made me knowledgeable was personal experience and the research i've read and seen. I saw what people can do to make themselves more happy, I saw how to gain confidence, I read a lot about motivation a positive mindsets. Students seeing this can know a lot of people are going through this, that they're not alone. It helps them boost their confidence and what they need. Do they need motivation right now, confidence or both. Whatever it is I think I gave it to them.
Reflection
Criteria D (i): reflect on their development of ATL skills
What Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills did you use in the completion of this project?
I used communication skills, I mean that's what my project is about. Trying to reach out to students. Also people to help me on this project. I have to talk to them for them to understand me. Sending emails to the counselors to share this, or meeting up with my coach to talk about what we're going to do next.
