Course Description:

Integrated Math 1 is the first of three high school mathematics courses Integrated Math 1, 2, and 3.

During the first semester, the course focuses on solving linear equations, basics of geometry, graphing

linear functions, writing linear functions, transformations, and data analysis and displays. The second

semester the course focuses on solving linear inequalities, solving systems of linear equations,

exponential functions, arithmetic and geometric sequences, reasoning and proofs, parallel and

perpendicular lines, and congruent triangles.

Student should go to Google Classroom to see what the assignments are.

They are listed by date.

How do you access them?

All Google Classroom assignments have the necessary links to Big Ideas Math, IXL, or other online site.

What textbooks/novels/materials should the student have received?

Students should have the math text, calculator and chromebook checked out from the school library.

Student Work

Per the schedule, support time and PRIDE Time are available.

Support time is to ensure the students can replicate the teachers example and practice in class.

PRIME Time is available Tuesday and Thursday for student to work on assignments and meet with teacher to receive additional help.

Classroom Rules:

Students must:

  1. Be respectful at all times.
  2. Be seated and ready to learn when the bell rings.
  3. Not eat/ chew gum/drink in the classroom.
  4. Not talk without permission. (Students may raise their hand to ask a question, express a concern, or participate.)
  5. Not use electronics in class. (Electronics must be turned off and out of sight).
  6. Come prepared with all the materials needed for class.

What are your steps for re-engagement and behavior correction?

Failure to comply with the Classroom Rules will have one of the following consequences:

  1. Detention
  2. Detention & Phone call to parents.
  3. Staff Intervention (Referred to counselor, Reflection Sheet with conference etc.)
  4. Referral to the Assistant Principal, followed by a parent conference.

Grading Policy

What categories will they see in Aeries?

Categories will be listed by units.

What’s your policy on late work?

  • Points will be deducted on late homework.
  • The last day to turn in any late homework assignments from Big Ideas Math for a specific chapter/unit is the day before the chapter/unit test.
  • Classwork is due the day assigned or the next class meeting.

How will you administer tests?

Tests will be administered in class. The format may vary, please listen to the teacher for instructions.

Are all submissions done through Google Classroom?

No. All grades will be stored in Aeries, some may be in Google Classroom.

90% and above: A

80% to 89%: B

70% to 79%: C

60% to 69%: D

59% and below: F

Tips for success

What can the student be doing to ensure their success?

ITo do well in this course students are expected to:

· Attend class meetings per school schedule.

· Participate in class lessons/activities/discussions.

· Ask questions and try their best.

· Take notes and read/review their notes and do extra practice.

· Complete all the assignments for a unit prior to each Unit TEST.

· Turn in Homework and class assignments on time.

· Do well on tests.

· Attend Virtual P.R.I.D.E Time from 2:37-3:36 PM, on Tuesday & Thursday. (Teacher Office Hours).

· Stay on topic during class.

What can the parent be doing to ensure their success?

The parent can:

Check student’s assignments and parent portal regularly. Email teacher if you have questions.
