People neglected by Traditional

Pilot & Cohort Rollouts

Clerical

One of the most overlooked, they are the glue that binds the organization. And one of the the most overlooked populations. They need training on how GAFE makes their life easier.

Admin

Someone needs to train them on how GAFE makes their lives easier. If they are not sold, no one is. At least Building Leaders-, best Superintendents.

Facilities

The MOST overlooked population in a Google Apps roll out. Effectively using Gmail, forms and calendar would streamline their workflow.

Nurse

The nurses life as others would be amazingly improved with the training. Forms alone could change their worklife.

Specialists

Art, Music, Physical Education, Health teachers and support teachers are often overlooked because there appears to be no immediate need.

Students!

Believe it or not, the pilot method often leaves the question “Who is teaching the students?”

Funded the initiative by offering to pay the instructors and offering inservice credits for trainings

Four District

Directors from the Quad Village area worked together to create a robust course catalogue for all quad teachers to attend.

Participants

From the first quad village became instructors over the next summer to offer more courses for the area’s teachers.

Leadership Models

Internal Portal

The most Google adapted districts that I work with have administrators who run their buildings on Google Classroom.

Observations

Using this template greatly streamlined my observation process. I scribed it then used voice recognition to enter my notes

Streamlining

  • Expectations
  • One Doc a Year
  • Follow Experts!
  • Shared Board Doc
  • Assigning Tasks

Sample First Slides Lessons

Intro Slides Template

Works at all levels, just adjust complexity. Students can use research toolbar for images. All students have edit access.

Commenting/Grading

Learning how to effectively grade digitally is as important for students as it is the teacher.

Google Drawings

Google Drawings can be used for any number of templates to help students and teachers get a start on a digital classroom.

Incentives

Device #Swag

If at all possible giving a device is a wonderful incentive. Give guidelines for carts please.

Curriculum Pay

Realize that this is ongoing and continued work. Innovation is a messy and time consuming business.

Inservice Credit

Consider offering a Google Teachers Academy or incentive for getting certified, but not punishing those who don’t.
