Making Final artworks- think presentation
Presentations
Think outside the square.
Presentation isn’t just something to consider at the end of an art project. It should be one of the first considerations.
For example, if you are doing an artwork based on the concept of flight, is it best communicated as a square painting?
Think of how you could create an artwork to reflect flight regardless of imagery
painted on a hundred pages floating on a breeze
suspended from a ceiling in a spiral
Projected onto a screen in flickers
Interactive with the viewer standing on an “edge” to see the work
Large Scale
Lots of small things making up a piece
Take it out of the frame
Cut out negative or positive space
Hang it
Roll it or fold it.
Break it up into sections
Layer it
Change the rectangular shape of it
Turn it into an installation
Mix materials and consider interesting layouts
Turn it into something else
See it from more than one side
Add more
Make it interactive
