Math

Students are working in Unit 4 - Making Sense of Multiplication and Division. They are working on fluency with 6’s and 7’s this week. Our focus this week will be on word problems and mixed story problems.

ELA

Students are working in Unit 2 of Module 2 as they begin to learn about informational writing and text features. We will focus on text features and begin to organize our first information writing piece. We will also continue to work on our close reading skills.

Social

Studies

Students are learning all about Economics in our new unit. They have been introduced to a dog named Herschel, who is helping them understand what it takes to produce an item. They are learning about Productive Resources: human, capital and natural resources.

Important Reminders & Times

Students will have a fun day on Halloween as we solve a mystery and go Math or Treating! This week students will be tested on Fluency with Multiplying by 6’s. Please work with your student on their multiplication fluency at home. They may also utilize Dreambox to aid in their math skills. Students should bring a snack and a water bottle to school every day.
