  • Go to https://kpbsd.instructure.com/
  • Click on Courses
  • Find the course you wish to work on
  • Click on it
  • Go to Canvas

    • In a module click +
    • Scroll to discussion
    • Name it

  • On the left side click discussions
  • Click “+ Discussions”

  • Name it
  • Add your description
  • Add links
  • Add youtube videos
  • Give instructions
  • Graded?
  • Can students see other’s first?
  • Threaded?
  • Availability?

Editing a Discussions

  • Go to discussions on the left
  • Click on the discussion you want to view
    • Example: 8th grade Language Arts (2018 spring) Week 2 reading check
  • Click reply to add to any discussion ask questions etc.
  • Notice the threaded replies

Seeing a discussion

  • On your home page click grades in the left hand corner
  • When a student has posted a box with lines through it shows up by their name under that discussion
  • Click on it
  • Click on the arrow on the right
  • Click speed reader
  • See everything the student posted and any replies they had
  • Add the grade
  • Add any comments
  • Click the arrow on the top right to go to the next student
  • Click the gradebook button in the top left to go back
