Romans 10:14-15

How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”

Thanksgiving

Ministry Updates

Pray for “Full Day Inn” as we have divided the kids to lower primary only on Saturday and upper primary and lower secondary only on Sunday. Pray that the activities we create for the kids will be able to help them in their knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Thank God for leading, guiding and bringing us through the super busy month of March with three groups of serve asia workers (SAW) workers.

Ian & Marianne Chew (IMC)

Thanksgiving

Ministry Updates

  • Back from a long home assignment in Singapore from Feb to March and then also to Thailand in April for Ian’s sister’s wedding.
  • University is beginning this month, so ministry will also begin soon.
  • Ian has also begun to see increased fruits in Totalfit. We have a new friend called Reo who’s training to be a professional baseball player and he is training every week with Ian.

  • Thank God for a wonderful home assignment. While it was very tiring, it was also a very meaningful time of refreshment and reconnections with our friends and family.
  • Ian’s sister Nicole got married to her longtime boyfriend Pedro! It was a wonderful time in Thailand and we pray that they will continue to seek after God during their marriage.
  • We settled back to Sendai quite well after both long trips. We had some hiccups (like our hot water heater breaking down), but thankfully it was fixed relatively quickly.

Prayer Requests

  • Pray for the Total Fit program that Ian has been doing with university students, middle school students and adults.
  • Pray as Ian continues in his role as finance officer. There will be major changes this year and Ian will be facilitating all of it.
  • Pray for Marianne as she not only does ministry but also works with leadership.
  • Pray for Rebecca as she starts her last year in kindergarten. Ian and Marianne are teaching her English and Japanese respectively, so pray that she will enjoy learning.
  • Pray for revival in Japan! People need the Lord.

KC* (KCN)

Pray

Praise

KC is participating in 2-year Consultant Training for Oral Bible Translation (OBT). Completed the basic and narrative workshops, going for the 2-week psalm workshop in Aug. A Tib team is keen to run a pilot project to translate a few psalms orally with KC’s guidance.

May the LORD equip him to be a blessing to many translations to implement oral strategy for more effective scripture engagement.

Ongoing translation checking for different teams for the rest of the year: Galatian, 2Sam, Jeremiah, 1-2Peters.

May he be effective in helping to improve these translations (accuracy, clarity, naturalness, beauty) for wonderful scripture engagement to transform their minds and nourish their soul towards God Alloving!

  • Qi’s Permanent Resident status (US green card) has finally been approved after 1.5 years (lower tuition fee, can travel abroad)!

  • Le has been accepted for an internship (May-July) with the Ministry of SF doing publicity role, before his NUS enrollment in Aug.
  • He has also been accepted into the Global Shapers Community - Sg Hub (a youth wing of the WEForum).

- En is enjoying her meaningful new

work with Happee Hearts that

serve to the Intellectually Disabled clients and their care-givers. She provides support in the Capacity and Enablement team.

Updates

Pray

  1. Pray for the Lord’s presence with the church: In this environment of persecution, may the Lord protect the brothers and sisters, grant them strength and courage, and help them hold fast to the truth in this generation, fighting the good fight for the Lord.
  2. Pray for God’s blessing on the seminary: May the final two weeks of study go smoothly and peacefully. The seminary’s old vehicle needs to be retired and replaced with a new one. Please pray about this matter. If anyone has a desire to contribute financially, you are welcome to contact me for more details.
  3. Pray for this nation: May the Lord have mercy on this land, release the imprisoned pastors and coworkers, and comfort their families.
  4. Pray for our family: Pray that my spouse and I would have strong and healthy bodies so that we may complete the work God has entrusted to us.
  1. Church: The church is promoting the Alpha Course through small groups and encouraging couples to join the “Loving Couples Camp” (3–4 couples per session). With an upcoming deacon board transition, leadership training is being started early to prepare suitable coworkers for service.
  2. Seminary/College: During the Christmas and New Year holidays, students served in their home churches instead of traveling elsewhere, and full-time classes continued afterward. Upcoming courses include Pastoral Studies II and Child Development and Parenting Psychology. Due to high mileage, frequent repairs, and rising maintenance costs, the seminary is considering replacing its 10-year-old vehicle, especially in light of favorable car prices and a planned 2026 trade-in subsidy.
  3. Family: The pastor’s wife’s blood pressure remains stable when ministry demands are manageable. During Christmas, two large evangelistic meetings were held in Shanghai with many responses. A Pastoral Studies course was taught at another seminary last week, and the family is currently discussing Spring Festival plans.
