Ministry Updates

Planning a 3 days 2 nights Summer camp at Full Day Inn from 14th - 16th August before we head back for home assignment.

Pray for “The House Of Grace “ as teaching session will be stopped during our Home assignment, pray for the residents (brothers) to revised on their own during this period.

Thank God for a well coordinated and collaborated English Experiential summer camp, thank God for Bartley Christian Church short-term mission team and Taiwanese team from Keliao Christian Church and Kaohsiung Abundant Christian Church. Thank God for seeing everyone through although some have fallen sick.

Pray for us as we are preparing for Home assignment from 1st Sep - 8th Dec 2026. Pray that we can have a good rest and good catch up with friends and love ones. Pray for Joyce Lim our Bridge Team member as she will be handling the ministry by herself.

Thanksgiving

Ministry Updates

Short term team from Canada has come to help us with our church camp, it’ll be evangelistic, so pray for open hearts.
Tohoku Gakuin University has record numbers of new students coming for our events and activities.
Ian went to a Totalfit seminar in Yokohoma and assisted in the translation.

Seeing more and more opportunities particularly in university ministry for students and drawing closer to them.
Our language skill in Japanese has improved to the point where we feel we can do much more ministry and host teams for translation. Praise God for his provision and blessings in our learning!
Thank God for his provision as a missionary friend whom we introduced his now-wife just got married in Nagoya! We were honored to be invited and give a speech at the wedding.

Prayer Requests

Pray for the Total Fit program that Ian has been doing with university students that they would gain a divine curiosity about who God is.
Pray as Ian continues in his role as finance officer through many transitional changes.
Pray for Marianne as she not only does ministry but also works with leadership.
Pray for Ian as he has 3 more preaching sessions for the rest of the year.
Pray for Becca as we teach her English and Japanese, may she grow in her knowledge but also love for others and the Lord.
Pray for revival in Japan! People need the Lord.

Ministry Updates

- Preaching & leading a seminar on stress management in Nagoya on 19th July.

- Preaching at church in Tokyo on 2nd August.

- Writing a chapter for a book of spirituality by the end of August.

- Blessings upon my teaching at TCU and good rapport with the students. Many students expressed their appreciation for the class!

- We are in good health after Peter recovered from a prolonged flu.

- Airi did relatively well for her term exams.

Prayer Requests

Pray for the Lord's blessing for the churches through my preaching & teaching on 19th July & 2nd August. Pray for His enabling grace and power on me.

Pray for the Lord's clear guidance upon my writing of a chapter to contribute to the book of spirituality compiled by TCU. Due at the end of August.

Pray that Peter may be successfully granted at least a 3-year-spousal visa by August. Pray for his learning of Japanese language.

KC is currently working on consultant notes for 2 Sam (will travel overseas to conduct the check this month).

Wrestling with some skin problems - hands and legs, itchy and all that, seen the doctor twice already ……

Dad’s recent pneumonia hospitalisation set his cataract surgery back by 2 months. Feel miserable waiting since he virtually cannot see in both eyes now…..

I was able to complete an online consultant check (4 days) for Galatian. I asked the 60 yo lady helping with the check:

“Do you want to belong to God?’

“Yes”.

‘Then do you want to believe Jesus to make that happen?”

“Yes!”.

The Translation Advisor for the project says the lady’s own mother is a believer, and after hearing so many scripture now (she has always keen to help do comprehension checking for the translation all these years. She was the next one lady i checked with from 2 years ago

PTL that Kai Le had a meaningful 10-week internship with Ministry of Social and Family. He may be keen to work with them in the future. For now he will embark on his 4 years studies at NUS-College in Aug.

Pray

Pray for the new Board of Deacons to shepherd God's people faithfully with wisdom, courage, and endurance.
Pray for the seminary's student recruitment, future development, and the fruitfulness of the short-term mission teams.
Pray for our family as we seek God's direction for the next season, for my wife's health, and for God's mercy for the country, that the gospel may continue to spread.

The 10th Board of Deacons was installed, marking a new season of leadership after a period of persecution. The new deacons are committed to serving faithfully despite the challenges.
The seminary completed its spring semester and celebrated the graduation of 13 students. Twenty students have been commissioned for short-term mission trips to Myanmar, Yunnan, and Guizhou.
I have stepped down as seminary president after completing my term but will continue teaching and serving in missions while helping with the transition.

Thank God for sustaining His church through persecution and raising up a new generation of faithful deacons.
Praise God for His grace throughout the semester and for the graduation and commissioning of students into ministry.
Thank God for His care over our family, our children's work, and the opportunity to continue serving after this leadership transition.
