Romans 10:14-15

How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”

Ministry Updates

Pray for our newly set up “Full Day Inn”, a walk-in center currently open only on Saturdays and Sundays. May this place attract more kids with dysfunctional family background and their family members. Pray for local church members to be involved in the center.

Thank God that we have a good Christmas celebration with the kids and some parents at the “full Day Inn”. We are thankful for the chairman Mr. Cai of “Gang Zi Men” association for supporting our work in various ways.

Ministry Updates

  • The short-term from Bartley finished their trip here and was a tremendous blessing to the church and the people they ministered to.
  • Winter has hit and the new year has passed. We’re coming back to Singapore for 6 weeks in Feb and March, so it’s going to be a busy time of meeting people again after two years.

  • Praise God for a safe and well-received short-term trip from Bartley.
  • Ian has finished his preaching for 2025, and has many many more in 2026. We thank God for the opportunities.
  • We were able to travel to Tokyo and enjoy some time with friends and other missionaries for the new year.
  • Saya chan, one of the university students that Ian teaches has asked about Christianity and more about the Bible. Pray for wisdom for Ian as he talks and shares with her.

Prayer Requests

  • Pray for the Total Fit program that Ian has been doing with university students, middle school students and adults.
  • Pray as Ian continues in his role as finance officer. There’s a few things that needs to be changed structurally so pray for wisdom and ability.
  • Pray for Marianne as she not only does ministry but also works with leadership.
  • Pray for Ian as he has quite a lot of speaking engagements, including his time back in Singapore Pray for strength and wisdom. (He’s also sick right now!)
  • Pray for revival in Japan! People need the Lord.

KC* (KCN)

Pray

Praise

This month over the CNY season, Nan, En and Le will be visiting our field that we spent the years 2004-2018 living and serving. May there be plenty of spiritual refreshment as they meet their old acquaintances.

KC is black-listed, and had handed the project to another colleague since 2023. May the Lord bless the Scripture use of the available materials.

KC continues to do consultant checking on-line (just finished 1 Sam, and continuing with 2 Sam, this project is concurrently translating 3 different dialects that hopefully will be merged into one. The output is oral. That’s the challege); . Pray for great perception to improve these translations in their accuracy, naturalness, clarity, and beauty for the local listeners, who cannot read their sacred script.

  • For Le’s ORD from the army on 7 Jan! He’s heavily involved regularly in volunteer work (Youth Corp, Signpost Initiative-VP, Aged Homes visits, Malay studies, Chinese Toastmaster etc) until his enrollment in NUS (Aug).

- For En to be offered a Research

Assistant job (perm staff) at Happee

Heart Movement (a NPO that ministers to

the Intellectually Dissable clients). She

will be working with a fellow Bartleyian:)

  • Qi has an increase of 50cents in her hourly rated work as Teaching Assistant (while pursuing her MA in Sociology at CUD, still waiting for greencard approval so to be able to work outside college, and pay a lower school fee……)

Updates

Pray

  1. Pray for the Lord’s presence with the church: In this environment of persecution, may the Lord protect the brothers and sisters, grant them strength and courage, and help them hold fast to the truth in this generation, fighting the good fight for the Lord.
  2. Pray for God’s blessing on the seminary: May the final two weeks of study go smoothly and peacefully. The seminary’s old vehicle needs to be retired and replaced with a new one. Please pray about this matter. If anyone has a desire to contribute financially, you are welcome to contact me for more details.
  3. Pray for this nation: May the Lord have mercy on this land, release the imprisoned pastors and coworkers, and comfort their families.
  4. Pray for our family: Pray that my spouse and I would have strong and healthy bodies so that we may complete the work God has entrusted to us.
  1. Church: The church is promoting the Alpha Course through small groups and encouraging couples to join the “Loving Couples Camp” (3–4 couples per session). With an upcoming deacon board transition, leadership training is being started early to prepare suitable coworkers for service.
  2. Seminary/College: During the Christmas and New Year holidays, students served in their home churches instead of traveling elsewhere, and full-time classes continued afterward. Upcoming courses include Pastoral Studies II and Child Development and Parenting Psychology. Due to high mileage, frequent repairs, and rising maintenance costs, the seminary is considering replacing its 10-year-old vehicle, especially in light of favorable car prices and a planned 2026 trade-in subsidy.
  3. Family: The pastor’s wife’s blood pressure remains stable when ministry demands are manageable. During Christmas, two large evangelistic meetings were held in Shanghai with many responses. A Pastoral Studies course was taught at another seminary last week, and the family is currently discussing Spring Festival plans.
