Lesson Plan for 1.2.2 Intro to Sound Video & Discussion
Lesson Objective: Together we can explain that when things vibrate they make sound.
Engage: Check In and Connect with Students. Movement break (optional)
I Do: Thinking about Sounds - Engage and Discuss
We Do: Watch video then discuss video questions as a class. An alternative is to stop the video along the way and answer the questions as you go.
You Do: Students think and draw their response to the final questions. If time allows, have students share their drawings with the class.
Assessment: Student oral response completed in “you do” section.

What zone are you in?
How do I feel today?
Lesson Objectives:
We'll discover that when things vibrate they make sound.

Grading Guidance for Instructor
1 | Not Meeting Grade Level Expectations Student does not accurately describe how we hear sounds. |
2 | Approaching Grade Level Expectations Student accurately identifies the ear or vibrations but does not put the parts together. |
3 | Meeting Grade Level Expectations Student accurately identifies our eardrum feels the vibrations and tells our brain it is sound. |
4 | Exceeding Grade Level Expectations N/A to this activity |
Demonstrates an understanding of scientific content and concepts.
