These 5 principles are at the core of who we are as a community. These will be the pillars that define how we operate while allowing the flexibility for each chapter to build a community designed for their audience while having a thread that holds all of us together.

One of the few things that we will ask our Leads to do, is to show these Principles at each of your Culture First gatherings.

Descriptions:

Foster belonging and acceptance

We create environments where diverse opinions, orientations, and perspectives are embraced and valued. We cultivate people’s wholeness and humanity. When faced with something we don’t understand, we are willing to engage with curiosity and let go of judgment.

Something that sounds easy is sometime hard and not clear - creating a space here then allows them to take this back to their organizatios - modeling the behvaior and change we want to see

Be willing to reflect and grow

We are willing to take an honest look at the things that can be improved in our workplaces and in our own leadership. We find ways to be mirrors for one another, and to challenge and support one another to develop ourselves and our organizations.

Growth mindset
Speak for yourself, share your truth, say I statements and stay open for others to do the same - then there’s a deeper truth we can get to
We all have our own perspective and if we can hear others wer acn get to a deeper truth

We know that growth comes from sharing our authentic selves and experiences. Being vulnerable supports this by opening spaces for genuine connection. We create safe environments for people to explore deeper levels of vulnerability.

The more we practice this the better we are
People going into orgs and changing the way we work is hard and even at the best its’s an upbill battle and takes vulnerability

We commit to bringing the knowledge, connections, and support we receive from our community back to our workplaces in order to transform the way the world works.

If we don;t take action, how will we ever get to change?

We realize and expect, that connections and business opportunities will come from this community. However, the goal of our community events is to foster connection, learning, and action – not transactional business opportunities. Let’s let this happen outside of our organized interactions.

We did a lot of research when building community and when we listened we heard that people like stuff like that this, but know it can quickly become transactional
I would be asking what’s in it for CA too - we are here to connect as humans and yes, business can come from this, but we want to protect this space for all of us - we can connect outside with business focus
CA is for profit
We want you to grow your businesses - but be able to come together and be relational first

There are three components (

Clear who and what
Principles of how we operate and what we rally around
How we run events - simple model (every great event has a beginning, middle and end to every event)

This help people run better gatherings and meetings
