Brought together industry leaders, federal partners, CADCA staff, master trainers and coalition leaders to share cutting edge strategies and innovative solutions.
Mid-Year Training Institute offers in-depth, interactive training sessions geared specifically for community coalition leaders and staff.
MYTI also includes two levels of training and we completed the Key Essentials Track Training. Where we learned about fundamentals of coalition building and strategic planning of community causes.

TAKEAWAYS
During my time at the CADCA conference I learned that there are many problems around the world that are different from those that I am used to. Some places deal with more vaping in the schools, underage drinking, and many more. A saying that was told to us was by our group leaders “If it it meant to be it is up to me”. That saying means to me that if there is something out there that needs to be done or something that you want, you have to go out and chase it. Nothing is going to just come to you without you putting in any work.

TAKEAWAYS
At CADCA, I learned different point of views that people have from all round the states. Building the base of an action plan and seeing how to build up from it to stop the problem in the school. How each school in different states encounters problems with alcohol and drugs with youth.
WHAT?
Underage alcohol misuse is taking place in our community and becoming a bigger problem every day.
WHY?
Especially now that media is such a big influence in this day and age, alcohol is being frequently advertised to the youth of our community. These advertisements can be seen at sports games, grocery stores, and most commonly seen on social media.

WHAT CAN WE DO ABOUT THIS?
OUR PLAN
Combat underage drinking by eliminating advertisements towards youth
WHO?
STEP 2 : PLAN INTO PLACE
Present to the Racine City Mayor in an effort to try and inform them about a potential law we should put into place
WHERE?
STEP 3: ACTION
Our action is going to happen in liquor stores, bars, and gas stations. We are going to implement a four foot policy about how liquor advertisements can’t be displayed in childrens view.
