  • Leave the classroom how you found it.
  • If it doesn’t belong to you, don’t touch it.
  • Sit in your assigned seat—do not move seats.
  • Keep your belongings under your desk at all times.

Classroom Rules: Chromebooks

  • Bring your CHARGED Chromebook to class EVERY DAY.

  • If you have a technical issue with your Chromebook or charger, let me know ASAP.

“My Chromebook is dead”

“I don’t have my Chromebook”

“My charger won’t reach my desk”

  • If you do not have your Chromebook and/or it is dead, and/or your charger won’t reach your desk - take the initiative to participate in class using paper and a pencil/pen.

Classroom Rules:

If you arrive to the classroom with no supplies, you may grab whatever you need from the student supply centers located on both sides of the room. If you haven’t prepared before the tardy bell, it’s a write up.

  • You will find pens, pencils, paper, tissue, germ-x and a trash can.
  • Seats 1-14 will go to the Student Supply center closest to the door
  • Seats 15-27 will go to the Student Supply center closest to the window

Classroom Rules: Tardiness

  • Get to class on time every day - no excuses.

  • If you are late to class I will write you a tardy every single time.

  • Take care of your responsibilities before school, during lunch, or after school.

  • You can bring water to drink during class.

  • NO - I will not allow you to go to the vending machines.

Classroom Rules: Cell Phones

  • Your cell phone should be kept in your backpack, purse, bag, etc. at ALL TIMES.

  • DO NOT keep your cell phone on your desk, in your lap, etc. I should never see it.

  • You CAN NOT charge your cell phone anywhere in the classroom.

  • NO - You CAN NOT charge your cell phone in any power outlet in the room.

  • NO - You CAN NOT charge your cell phone in your Chromebook.

  • If I catch you on your phone, I will take it.

  • If I see it, I will take it from you, put it in a marked paper bag, and turn them in to an administrator. This is a district wide policy and Louisiana State Law.
  • If you refuse to give me your phone, I will call admin to get it and you will receive an automatic 3-day suspension.

  • The same rule for cell phones applies to headphones, AirPods, and Smart Watches.
  • If I see it I will take it put it in a marked paper bag, and turn them in to an administrator.

Classroom Rules: Bags/Purses

  • Keep all purses, bags, gym bags, and bookbags OFF of your desk.
  • Store all purses, bags, gym bags, and bookbags under your desk.

Classroom Rules: Participation Points

  • Each Week you will have 25 points for Class Participation. Points are deducted for the following:
  • Sleeping (-5)
  • Not having materials (-5)
  • Talking/causing disturbance during a lesson(-5)
  • Not in assigned seat when the bell rings (-5)
  • Negative/disrespectful comments to teacher or about a teacher or classmates(-5)

Classroom Rules: Late Work

  • I DO NOT except late work especially if the assignment was given in class.
  • Do not ask me to bring the assignment back later on in the day.
  • If you are in class and did not complete the assignment due to sleeping, talking, writing lines, or another teacher’s work, it’s a write up and call home.

To Enter:

  • Enter the classroom quietly.
  • Directly walk to and sit in your assigned seat.
  • Review the “Do Now” on the board.
  • Complete your Bell Ringer.

During Class:

  • Remain in your seat at all times unless told otherwise.
  • Unless it’s an emergency, do not interrupt the class.
  • Need something? Raise your hand!

  • Leave the classroom exactly how you found it - clean up your mess!

  • When you return to class, check the “Absent Tray” for any handouts you missed during your absence.

  • Excused absence you will have 2 days to make up missing quizzes or test

I will ONLY write a Hall Pass if:

1. You are called to Student Services.

2. You are called to Guidance.

3. It is an emergency.

NOTE: Bathroom breaks are not (typically) emergencies - go in between classes and at lunch!

  • DO NOT ask me to go to the bathroom during class.
  • I will only write you a hall pass to go to the bathroom if it is an EMERGENCY.
  • Go to the bathroom before school, between classes, at lunch, and after school.

You are allowed three minor infractions before a minor referral is written and submitted to admin.

Any and all classroom disturbances will be documented for student, school, and teacher safety.

  • Any student who uses profanity, fights, damages school property, or is disrespectful will be sent to student services immediately.

  • Any student who is found cheating or who is found guilty of plagiarism will receive a zero for the assignment in addition to a referral.

  • Yes, it’s always cold in my classroom. No, I can’t adjust the temperature. Bring a jacket - no blankets per school rules!

  • You can’t use my fridge, Keurig, or microwave (I’m sorry!)

Please remember that once you enter my classroom, I expect you to follow our rules and procedures at all times. I have high expectations for each of you. You may not enjoy the strictness now, but you will come to appreciate it, I promise.
