Perkins V/ CTSO Requirements

  • One secondary to postsecondary pathway alignment required for each program area for which the school/district will use Perkins funds​
  • Pathway alignments should be created and submitted for the school (not the district as a whole)
  • An aligned CTSO must be available for each program area for which districts will use Perkins funds​

Perkins V/ CTSO Requirements (cont.)

  • Career & Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) are non-profit career-based groups that offer co-curricular resources and opportunities for students in CTE pathways to develop knowledge and skills by participating in activities, events and competitions. CTSOs embed communication and leadership skills into their programming.�
  • CTSOs assist districts with meeting the quality indicator in their Kentucky Perkins Plan.

Regional Structure�

Each Region should have a annual meeting by September to:

  • Elect a Regional Coordinator. (Elected by majority vote of attending representatives).
  • Create Regional leadership team
  • Discuss Regional fall leadership training
  • Discuss Regional program of work (regional calendar)
  • Discuss Regional competitive event to qualify for State Conference
  • Discuss improving chapter membership
  • Discuss Community Service project(s)
  • Discuss SkillsUSA KY Day of Service
  • Discuss fundraising actives, share successes
