OUR MISSION.

To promote the welfare of KES children in school, home and community.

To increase communication between the home and school so that parents and teachers may work cooperatively toward enhancing the education of KES children.

To conduct fundraising events, when necessary, and programs for the benefit of KES students.

Budget Summary

  • ASA - still need to payout fall vendors - will happen end of session
  • Merchandise - $5k plus, cost for Katonahween and dismissal plans not deducted yet
  • Garden - Margi summer hours
  • Boo Yahoo – came in bit high due to holding it at the Library this year
  • Student Financial Assistance - 7 instruments for Scholarship students
  • School Supplies Pack - raised $1576 for this year’s packs

Book Fair

  • November 16-18th
  •  4-6 PM after school on Thursday Nov. 16 and Friday Nov. 17th
  • 11 am -3 pm on Saturday Nov. 18th to coincide with Holiday Boutique
  • Please help, if you can!

Buddy’s Bonus Activities

  • Winter programs will be announced soon
  • Winter sign up early December

Bulletin Boards

  • The Thankfulness Tree - Installed Nov 3rd
  • Reusing last year’s tree (with some improvements/ a little repair!)
  • Every student was given the opportunity in class to complete a leaf noting something they are thankful for

Class Pictures

  • Picture Retake – Friday, November 17th
  • Parents email Marlene Vranich with name and teacher to get on retake list and send a note so no one is missed.
  • 5th Grade Photo will be taken on Nov 17th

Community Service

  • Holiday Food Drive – 11/3-16th
  • Donated to Northern Westchester Community Center - 11/17
  • Last year, we donated 517 pounds of food!

Enrichment

  • In school and virtual programs and field trips are scheduled for each grade

Fifth Grade

  • Movie Up Video Photo requests in December
  • Pie sales - 201 sold ($1740) - pick up November 20th at KES
  • Planning a pancake breakfast

Garden

  • 1st - Pumpkin Harvesting
  • 2nd - Seedlings, harvesting and tasting
  • 3rd - Plant observations in the butterfly garden

Holiday Boutique

  • November 18th – 11 am – 3 pm at Katonah Elementary School
  • 25 vendors; 31 student makers

Staff Appreciation

  • 11/20 - 50th day treats to staff
  • Gave gifts for Custodian’s Day
  • Dec - Holiday Gift cards to KES Support Staff
