What is an Edcamp?

This Edcamp is being organized by Boston Public Schools teachers in collaboration with

the Boston Teachers Union and the Telescope Network.

How Do We Create the Board?

  • Fill out a post-it note at your table with a session topic you might want to lead or a question you have around SEL.
  • Post it to the Session Board
  • That’s it!
  • These topics then become our session guides.

The Norms

The Sessions

  • Each session needs a Facilitator (person that suggested the session) and a Note-taker
  • Facilitator:
    • Introduce yourself
    • Introduce the question/problem of practice and the rationale/context (1-2 min.)
    • Open conversation
    • Note-taker:
      • Writes down information from the table conversation on chart paper and/or Google doc. - bit.ly/edcampBTUBPS under Schedule tab

Keep the Learning Going!

PDPS!

BPS Employees: You can earn 10 PDPs for participation. Register for ""BTU&BPS Spring Edcamp (SEL Focus)" in My Learning Plan. The event is 5.5 hours long and the remaining 4.5 hours will be dedicated to a project that is shared and submitted via Google Classroom.

IMPACT GRANTS!

You can receive a $500 grant for implementing something you learned from today’s Edcamp. Grant applications are not open yet, but we’ll send out a follow-up email letting you know!
