Our Mission

We wish to provide mentoring and programming that encourages female & male middle school students within RUSD to pursue an education and a career in STEM.

Inspire Her Mind

A Mathematical Stroll through Paris Activity

Genetics Lab

SISTERs Events

Mentor high school students interested in STEM through engaging activities.

Dr. Yeakel taught the sisters a fun mathematics-based activity involving platonic solids and Euler’s Method.

Work through fun project with PhD student at Johns Hopkins University to find the gene that causes the banana odor.

Meeting with graduate students from UCR and learning about their research and future goals

Get a hands on lesson on neuroanatomy by dissecting/observing structures in a sheep brain

We want to bring in guest who work in fields you guys are interested in, from entomology and physics to medicine!

This newsletter will be sent out at the beginning of each month and highlight the stories of Science Ambassador, new research, and articles written by college students and even YOU!!

You can read and learn from women in STEM in college who were just like you.

Please let us know if you would like to write a mini article for the SISTERs newsletter!

You can write about a field you are interested in and how you became interested in it.
