How to Access Schedule and Add Sessions

#VBDLSS2020

3 of 8

Once you add a session to your Schedule, it virtually “reserves” your spot. This will close or grey out the other sessions for this time period. If you are unable to attend one of your reserved sessions, please remove it from your Schedule ASAP.

We have made every effort to accommodate as many participants per session as possible, However, sessions marked as FULL, will NOT BE ABLE TO BE JOINED.

Install the Chrome browser on your computer (if not already installed). You will need to use this browser to access the conference session links.

We would like to recommend a couple of Chrome extensions that are available for you to install on your Chrome browser. Google Meet Grid VIew allows you to view all the participants in the meeting in a grid/gallery view. Nod - Reactions for Google Meet allows you to raise your hand and provide reactions for the presenter.

Mute your microphone upon entry to the session room, and stay muted unless responding to the presenter.

All virtual sessions will be recorded for possible use as professional development courses.

Please turn off your camera if you are in a location where there may be distractions to the other attendees such as children playing in the background or if you are on a mobile device and moving around.

Headphones or earbuds are recommended.

Troubleshooting Strategies

Feedback or hearing an echo - Make sure that you have your microphone muted. Headphones or earbuds are recommended.

Not able to hear the speaker - Check the main volume control on your computer. Make sure that your sound is not muted. If you are using headphones/earbuds, check the volume control on the headphones/earbuds, and check your laptop settings to make sure that the volume output is set up to use your headphones/earbuds.

Meeting reception is statically and unstable - Try turning off your video camera and ensure that you are in a location that is close to your wifi router and away from other WiFi-enabled devices such as other computers, and mobile devices.
