WHO WE ARE

TEAM 4308:

ABSOLUTE ROBOTICS

Team 4308 is a robotics club based at the Woodlands SS. Founded in 2012, we currently have over 70 members on our team and no prior experience is required to join!

As a competitive club, we participate in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) every year, meaning we have only 6 weeks to design and construct a industrial-sized robot.

By joining 4308, you get the opportunity to gain real, hands-on engineering experience working with mentors, teachers, and fellow students - there are many ways to get involved.

SUBTEAMS

Building a robot from scratch is a lot of work, and there are many different jobs to be done to get there.

Team members specialize in specific subteams in order to efficiently split up work, and so that everyone can learn and work in a way that suits their interests.

It’s okay not to know which subteam you’re interested in, this presentation will help you pick!

Controls Subteam (Programming)

Overview

  • Writes software for the bot that allow controllable movement
  • Utilize sensors and logic to improve accuracy and ease of use
  • Troubleshoot errors and ensure the robot moves predictably
  • Program autonomous routines for the start of each match

Skills You’ll Learn

  • Using industry standard version control systems (Git/Github)
  • Working with cool FRC frameworks and libraries
  • Object-oriented programming (Java)
  • Implementing robot kinematics and control systems
  • Manipulating vision processing
  • Collaboratively developing software as a team
