• There is a growing concern over the role of open mapping for solid waste management especially the plastic bottles.

• OM helps people to find out where they can recycle and/or dispose of their trash in a more environmentally friendly way.
• Allows public to easily understand the current waste management system. It allows for the public to be able to see where their waste goes and how it is managed.
• OM uses open-source geospatial data to visually depict and analyze the spatial distribution of waste material in cities.

Contribution of open mapping in SWM

• provide decision makers with an easy way to visualize and understand the spatial distribution of waste materials, which can then be used to prioritize collection and disposal practices.
• In addition, open mapping can help identify areas where waste disposal practices may be more effective or where new methods of waste management might be necessary.
