Take out yesterday‘s Duolingo: Historese paper. (Or start a new one.)
Answer this: The Earth is divided into 7 continents. Try to write down all 7. Not sure? Take a guess!
Did you know…
historians have our own language? It’s true!
We speak a language known as Historese. It’s like English, just with a bunch of words others rarely use.
Today, it’s time for level 2: Geography (which happens to be our first new historese word today!)

Round 2 – Map Detective (3–4 minutes)
Now they need the legend and compass.
After a minute, stop and ask:
"How did you know where to look?"
Lead them toward:
"The legend tells us what the symbols mean."
How to Play:
USE your map to answer the following on your paper.
1. You start in front of the castle. You run EAST to the first mountain. What is it?
2. You run NORTH from that mountain to the first ride. What is it?
3. You follow the PARADE ROUTE from here to the end. Which two directions did you go?
4. You go to the statue in the hub in the center of the park. You take the SOUTHWEST path. What land are you now in?
5. From here, you run NORTH, passing through the first land you come to and continue to the next. What land are you in?
