What is Claude.ai?

• A generative AI software platform that can help you with idea generation and writing projects.
• Uses prompt technology – you prompt responses with detailed questions.

Who is behind Claude.ai?

• Anthropic is an AI safety and research company based in San Francisco.

​

• Anthropic was founded in 2021 by married couple Dario Amodei and Daniela Amodei. The two AI researchers met while working at OpenAI, the influential San Francisco AI safety lab co-chaired by Elon Musk.

• Big investors: Amazon, Google, Salesforce Ventures, Menlo Ventures, Spark Ventures, among others.

Why am I showing you Claude?

• Learning generative AI: Experimenting with different types of generative AI primarily for writing, editing and idea generation -- ChatGPT, Jasper, Claude, Otter, etc.

What I like about Claude

• Human-Like Voice/Tone – It has an almost “human” voice – feels like you’re talking with someone.

• In-Depth Responses – Seems more “in depth” than ChatGPT.

​

• Simple to use – like Google Search. Just type in a question or request.

​

• Fast responses! – It processes 75,000 words in a minute.

How I use Claude

• Idea generation and brainstorming
• Outlines – books, articles, presentations, white papers, etc.
• Copy for the writing project
• Editing (reduce a long piece of copy into a shorter piece, or vice versa)
• Scenario development
• Turning a transcript into key points, an article or an outline
• Career ideas
