AI & SDGs Innovation with Responsibility

How can AI help build a sustainable future?

3 of 18

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Computer systems that can understand, create, and respond like humans.

Examples:

  • Voice assistants (Siri, Alexa)
  • Google Translate
  • Netflix or YouTube recommendations

GenAI: a newer type of AI

It can create new things based on existing data.

Traditional AI: "I can recognize this is a cat in this photo."

Generative AI: "I can create a new photo of a cat that doesn't exist."

Challenges & risks

Hallucinations:AI may “make up” facts that look convincing.

Privacy:AI tools may collect and store personal data.

Plagiarism:Copying AI text can be academic dishonesty.

Overreliance:People may skip thinking and creativity if they let AI “do it all.”

What you should know

AI is not good or bad , it depends on how it’s used.

Guidance and boundaries are necessary.

Our goal today: create a poster.

Think of AI as:Calculator for words & ideas; helpful but needs oversight.(It can help write, explain, and create, but sometimes makes mistakes).
