Abstract

I did this because i wanted to see which four planes flew the best out of a selection on 10 planes my hypothesis is that the most arrow dynamic plane or the plane with the most like will fly the farthest the wind might have made the planes go slower or farther or slower depending on which wa the wind was going

The day i tested them at the park it was pretty windy and the plane kept flying back or to the side and i couldn't through them those ways because there were two fences there and the planes would probably get lost i was throwing them all and seeing which was the farthest away from me and how far back the other planes were behind it

In conclusion my

Hypothesis was

Correct because the

Two best planes met

Both the requirements

Of my hypothesis

Which was that they

Both were very arrow

dynamic and both had a lot of lift so when i threw them they would go up very high and then glide down very far

Purpose Statement

The purpose of this project is to see which paper airplane flies the farthest

Hypothesis

My hypothesis is that the most arrow dynamic plane will make it the farthest

My other hypothesis is that the plane with most lift will fly the farthest because then it might get up really high and then glide the farthest

Experimental Procedures and

Materials

How I found out which plane flies the farthest

  • I got the paper and folded the paper into four different planes
  • I tested to make sure panes flew
  • I picked out the planes that flew the farthest and compared there distances

Experimental Results

Each of the four planes was tested on three flights from 2 locations; street level and elevated on a hill at a park.

Analysis of Experimental

Results

After i did my testing i learned which of the four planes flew the farthest. it helps my hypothesis because the 2 best planes did what my hypothesis was. Plane 1 was very arrow dynamic same with plane 2 and they both had flaps at the end to so they would curve up really high and then glide down really fast and really far.

Conclusions

In conclusion my hypothesis was correct and the two best planes met my hypothesis

If I wanted to expand this project farther i could test different types of paper or different material or heavier paper bigger paper etcetera.
