2. calculate the exponent 2³ = 2 x 2 x 2 = 8 = 8 - 3 x 2

3. perform multiplication/division operations 3 × 2 = 8 – 6

4. perform addition/subtraction operations 8 – 6 = 2

so 2³– 3 × (8 – 6)= 2�
