May the Spirit of the Holidays

be with you

throughout the New Year.

Holiday Shop

When? December 3rd-5th

How? Parents will coordinate with their child a list of family members/friends. Your child will have a scheduled time to shop for the names on their list. The money sent with your child should match the number of gifts you plan to purchase.

Cost? $1.00

Why? Allows students to surprise family members with a special gift for Christmas picked out just by them.

DIBELS: Dynamic Indicator for Basic

Early Literacy Skills

Three times a year, in September, December and April, your children will be administered the DIBELS Next assessment.

DIBELS is a series of short tests that assess early childhood literacy. It is a set of procedures and measures for assessing the acquisition of a set of K-6 literacy skills, such as phonemic awareness, alphabetic principle, accuracy and fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.

This is not an assessment in which your children can study, but rather it gives an indicator for reading success based on individual scores. Should you have questions about the results, please contact your child’s teacher.

Delays and Cancellations

Please see the Elmwood webpage for the delay and cancellation schedule.
