GlobalCue.Live

A Remote cueing system over Ethernet & Internet

2 of 13

GlobalCue.Live - Overview

A simple method for remote cueing of presentation slides for meeting over the Internet to a central location where a Technician (graphics) would look after the show.

The Technician goes to https://globalcue.live/ and starts a session. The Tech sends a link to the presenter so it can be received on their phone or tablet of choice - it only requires a web browser to operate (no apps on the client side).

The Technician has full control of what presenter has access at what time during the presentation. The presenter has a screen showing their session is active but paused at this time.

The following slides outlines some of the features available - as with any product, especially software, these will evolve to the point they are not written here, yet.

The Home Screen

A remote cueing system that only requires a browser.

The “Home” screen is where you create a new session, or pick up and continue an existing one.

The guidance and hints on the page will help you set up.

“News” will include the latest updates to the system.

Technicians Screen

Once a session is started you re taken to the Tech screen.

The Tech’s Screen is clear and simple. Input the presenter’s name and send them the link.

From here you can see all presenters and their cues.

You can choose the presenter’s name, and delete the presenter once finished. Tones are the same as on the MasterCue V6, so you can assign a different pair of tones to each (up to 3)

Technicians Screen (cont’d)

Having multiple presenters in different places around the world is possible with GlobalCue.

The Buttons on each:

  • Solo - use this to isolate the presenter and make theirs the only active cue
  • Play (Green) - normal run
  • Pause - pause this presenter
  • Tones on/off - if you want it to be quiet.
  • Pop Out - a smaller tech window for less screen clutter
  • The Red icon is showing no presenters active - it will turn green with a small number for how many are using this Presenter ID when the connection is active

i2Bridge

If you scroll down you will see this little area, where you can download the i2Bridge app to the tech’s PC (it has to be a PC, for now).

This will enable our CueEther products to drive the computers direct from GlobalCue.Live.

With added addressing channel selection can be made to each (up to 4) CueEther devices. Or global of several hundred.

i2Bridge - multiple

We had a request to run the i2Bridge at multiple locations.

This can be achieved by doing the following:

Run the i2Bridge at each location and have a unique i2Bridge ID at that location.

The Presenter’s handset

Optimised to fit a mobile phone this mimics our usual handsets and the cues are visible and audible to the technician controlling the show.

The OK to connect will also ask the phone not to put the screen to sleep. Some systems may not support this.

The heartbeat will animate to show the presenter it is connected.

In addition - A real clicker

Our MicroCue3 is a useful simple system and uses our much loved handset with tactile positive feedback. The MC3 can be powered from the USB so using a OTG - On The Go connector for you phone you can connect a proper handset to the GlobalCue.Live system. - This does work very well.

In Addition… External control

When GlobalCue was first created it was as a standalone piece of software for technicians to use as a pure CueLight and one that required a technician to advance the slides.

CueEther (which grew out of CDEther) became a possibility to be controlled with this - GlobalCue.Live

We have been working on another feature to control MicroCue3 and with the latest firmware update this is now possible. Using Port 1 and a i2Bridge enabled PC, Ports 2&3 and connected MC3 with i2Net can all be used.

Teach the presenter as a handset to the MC3 as you would any other handset.

More to come

We have been working on this for some time - we are still working on this. We will improve it based on your feedback. We know there are other remote cueing with applications such as Zoom, Teams and Skype, the ability to signal the control to create an action such as moving your slide forward and give the presenter freedom to concentrate on their presentation.

This program will continue to adapt and change to hopefully, what you need!

This is free software - without any warranty whatsoever - the reliability is down to your internet connection. A cookie is placed on your device(s) to say what session is associated with you. No data is captured for anything.
