Google Classroom:

Integrating Google Meet

April 2020

3 of 12

Teachers can now set up a standing Google Meet based on each Google Classroom.

What are the benefits?...

4 of 12

  • Only the students enrolled in that specific Google Classroom will be able to join.
  • The Meet is only active when a TEACHER joins.
  • The TEACHER must leave the Meet last to “close” the Meet, and students cannot rejoin until a teacher does.

NOTE: The TEACHER can remove all STUDENTS and then hang up, instead of waiting for all students to leave.

You activate the Meet link for each Google Classroom that you want to by going into the Class, then to SETTINGS:

NOTE: You only have to do this setup ONCE for each Class and that unique link will be available any time you need it!

  • You can now see the customized Meet link (don’t worry if anyone copies it, students who are not enrolled in the particular Google Class can’t join anyway!)

8 of 12

  • You can decide if students see the Meet link using the toggle switchOFF ON (any color, not necessarily blue, that’s my Class’ theme)
