Just-in-Time Embedded Assessments in the Super Skills BETA

  • The 2022 Super Skills BETA testing demonstrated promising evidence on the ability to measure creative skills while learners are engaged in creative play with a sample of participants of different ages, most in the range of 6-10 y/o
  • All artifacts were tagged by one or more underlying creative skills and scored using rubrics
  • Key results and psychometric characteristics of all items are included in the main research presentation
  • The following slides provide illustrative examples for artifacts learners generated by creative skill during their Super Skills BETA experience

Write three ideas for ways to test your rocketship before launching to the moon. The ideas should be as different from each other as possible!

The Star Heroes need your help with the design of a rocketship that Skillgore would not be able to recognize. Write about your design, or upload a picture!

Write about your design and/or upload a picture.

  • “Need to pass the noise test, it has to be quiet enough"
  • "The speed test...it needs to go onto outerspace really fast"
  • "The power test...hope the rocket has enough energy to fly”

10 y/o: "The spaceship has an invisibility button to help it disappear when enemies come near. It can shoot out smoke to distract the enemies."

8 y/o: “Start with one foot in each circle then crawl under hoops then climb the stairs of the house and go down the slide then balance through the beams.”

10 y/o: Jump over the belt. Tip toe through the lego pieces. Be careful! Crawl under the piano bench. Done!!
