L6 ENGINEERING A WATER FILTER
Design a water filter. Begin by contaminating your water sample and fill out the chart below. Decide what you want to test for with the test strips.

Contaminants What did you put in the water? | Observations What do you see, smell, etc? | Test Strip Results

Use the space below to sketch your water filter design. Ensure it has a place to pour in contaminated water, a filter with materials for the water to pass through, and a place where the filtered water will come out.

Build your water filter and pour contaminated water into it to test your first iteration. Record your results in the chart below and answer the following question:.
How successful was your first water filter attempt? Were there any issues?
What would you like to change or improve your design?
Make changes or improvements to your design and test your second iteration. Record the results below.
Iteration | Filtered Water Observations What do you see, smell, etc? | Test Strip Results

First iteration | | | |
Second Iteration | | | |
How successful was your water filter? Would you feel safe drinking your filtered water?
What would you improve the next time you build a water filter? What did you learn?
