IHE SHARAZONEProposal to offer a testing environment to SDOs

April 2022

2 of 9

IHE SHARAZONE - Objective

  • Background & Initial Scope

Critical for products creating standardized objects to have these objects tested with a broad number of consuming products*

IHE SHARAZONE initially focused on the sharing & testing of DICOM objects, however the resulting framework and service intended to consider other objects, such as CDA & FHIR Documents in future.

Multiple attempts to establish testing of shared DICOM and CDA samples. Analyzed why none have grown into a sustainable model.

*Product may be commercial or open source. It may be released or planned to be released.

AI vendors as Creator can test that DICOM objects resulting from their imaging analysis can be properly ingested and displayed by Consumers*. Typically:

        • Secondary Capture
  • SR (CAD, Basic Text, , TID 1500, Enhanced etc.)
  • Presentation State (GSPS, Blending, CPS, etc...)
  • Key Image Note

SHARAZONE Consumers will perform a comprehensive review of AI results and the original study on which analysis was performed to check that:

  • DICOM Results are in the same study but different series and no conflicts
  • Contrast perception on the resulting images is the same as on original image
  • GSPS is properly applied in case it is applied to original images
  • No issues with existing hanging protocol

IHE SHARAZONE proposal: Highlights

7

This proposal aims at offering access to IHE SHARAZONE to a Standards Development Organisation, where an SDO created sample of a standardised object can be made available for testing by vendors on a voluntary basis. The following principles are proposed:

  1. Sample and test suite are authored by the SDO, IHE SHARAZONE has no exclusivity. These may be published by the SDO on its own website.
  2. Samples and test suites provided by the SDOs are accessible by IHE SHARAZONE participants for testing under the IHE SHARAZONE process. Test reports are produced by the participants to report their testing based on the test suite:
    1. the SDO designates a neutral owner registered on behalf of the SDO as a sample creator on IHE SHARAZONE
    2. the SDO owner is responsible to review test reports, interact with/support the testing consumers and to compile a vendor-anonymised feedback to the SDO
    3. No cost to the SDO: IHE SHARAZONE participation fee is waived but a contract and formal designation of an owner are necessary
  3. IHE SHARAZONE and SDO will promote the SDO‘s offering in terms of samples and test suites (e.g., offer a demonstration test input)

IHE SHARAZONE warrantees structured test reports from the participants who downloaded the samples
