Introduction / Motivation

  • Hard outside of work to meet new friends (even harder with COVID), SocialQB is a way to organize events to connect and form relationships.

  • Hard to track engagement and activity. When is the right time to host an event? How often? This app can track and give insight into event hosting.
  • When everyone is remote, you don’t really have watercooler conversations that happen. This app can help with that.

How it’s built

  • Many-to-many relationship between Events and Employees table mediated by Attending entries. Add new events types or reports anytime.

  • Can link directly into your employee manifest or external system, or use the quickbase users table. Attendees do not have to be Quickbase users.
  • Email notifications fire off whenever a user gets added or removed from an event. Uses quickbase notification feature.

Future work

  • Improved reporting, and new event recommendations based on previously hosted events and gatherings.
  • Add automation to selecting employees and creating activities.
  • Advanced role and access splitting of the app. Currently focused on admins who could be in HR or otherwise centralized.
  • Add additional integrations and connections to other tracking and analytics platforms ex: fully virtual event integrations
