Ramadan mubarek!

Our body will show changes with fasting and we will react to changes.

Due to Ramadan is in the summer days; risks such as increased fluid loss, insomnia and carelessness are important for occupational safety.

CARELESSNESS:

As a result of blood sugar drop in workers who are hungry for long hours; discomfort such as weakness, dizziness, fatigue or even palpitations are observed.

HEADACHE:

As a result of fasting-related blood sugar, headaches are common observed in the first days.

INSOMNIA:

Along with the month of Ramadan; Employees who are awake for sahur, they may have sleep problems. Fasting staff should be able to fulfill their sleep needs during rest times.

THIRST:

It is recommended to drink plenty of liquid between iftar and sahur.

Excessive irritation can be seen in smokers.

STRESS:

IN ORDER TO PREVENT FROM WORK ACCIDENTS THOSE PRECAUTIONS SHOULD BE TAKEN:

  • Foremen, engineers, supervisors should follow the behavioral changes of employees.

  • Site checks should be increased by HS staff and the workplace physician.

  • Diabetes patients, people who need continuous medication, workers with stomach ulcers and people with renal impairment should be identified. They should take special measures to fast.
