Role List

  • System Administrators are able to enter new or edit existing Roles in SSIS Administration.
  • Roles in SSIS contain functions that are directly linked to what users are able to view and do in SSIS.
  • Each user is assigned a Role according to their job duties and responsibilities.
  • Creating a limited number of roles makes the security more effective and manageable.

Hint: Enter the Role “None” for inactive users in SSIS.

New Role – Adding Functions

  • As the SSIS Mentor & Admin & Coordinator, I gave myself all functions.
  • Possible functions are in the handout and also available online under SSIS Worker Documentation/SSIS Administration Functions.

Hint: Use the Security Tools/General Reports/Security Report/Worker Role/Function Report with no role selected to get a report of all roles with functions assigned. Use this report to review access for users.

Unit List

  • Set up units and add staff
  • Note the Restricted unit that I added. This is for Child Protection confidential workgroups. I only have the Supervisor and the Case aide in this unit and when they do a restricted intake, they restrict it to their unit and the description for the intake is “Restricted” so no names are ever made available to view.

User Search – Add New User

  • Under User Search, we can search on Name, Department, or Unit.
  • System Administrators set up new users for SSIS in SSIS Administration. This requires an administrator to enter basic information about the worker.
  • Information entered auto-fills into various places in SSIS including documents, service plans, claims, and reports.
  • User profiles also allow an administrator to assign a Role to a worker.
