How to easily get print books & articles that the UT Libraries own.

We make getting print materials easy.

We’ll scan articles from print journals or chapters from a print book. If you need the whole book, we’ll pull it from the shelf for you.

Steps for Scan on Demand

and Hold for Pick-Up

  1. Find what you want in OneSearch

  • Click on the book title to get more details

  • Sign-in to your account with your NetID

  • Click Physical Item (for the whole book), or PDF Scan (for an article or book chapter)

  • Complete form and click Send Request

Step 1: Search OneSearch for your topic.

[OneSearch lists all of the books, ebooks, journals, DVDs, streaming video that the

library has. It lists some articles, but not all.

Step 2: Click the title of the book to get more details.

Step 3: Click “Sign in” and login with your NetID

Step 4:

Click ‘Physical Item’ to get the physical book

Click ‘PDF Scan’ to get an article or book chapter

Step 5: Choose which library you want to pick it up at and click ‘Send Request’.

You’ll get an email when your book is ready to pick up.

Please allow 1-2 business days.

The Pick-up location in Hodges Library is the

Public Services Desk on the 2nd floor, across from Starbucks.

Step 5: For articles or book chapters, enter the author, title, and pages.

Then click ‘Send PDF Scan Request’.

You’ll get an email with your scan attached.

Please allow 1-2 business days.

Can’t wait the 1-2 days to get it pulled or scanned?

You can get books or journals from the shelves yourself.

The “Map it” button will show you which row your book is on.
