Factor & Remainder Theorem

  • You may be asked to find the remainder of a polynomial, after being given a factor of the expression.

  • This simply involves substituting a specific value into the polynomial to find an answer, i.e. the remainder.

  • If the answer is 0, then there is no remainder which means a factor has been found.

*A polynomial is just an expression with lots of terms (more than 2).
