Telling Time

Telling time is easy once you get the hang of it. First, you have to know how to count by 5’s then, you have to know the numbers on the clock.

Time

60 Seconds = 1 Minute

60 Minutes = 1 Hour

24 Hours = 1 Day

7 Days = 1 Week

4 Weeks = 1 Month

12 Months = 1 Year

The Hour Hand

• The short hand is the hour hand it tells what hour it is.Each number is multiplied by 5minutes.
• 60 minutes =1hour.

The Minute hand

• The long hand is the minute hand, it tells minutes.
• The time is 3:53.

Minutes

• If the minute hand is on 3, then it is fifteen minutes after the hour. Sometimes people say this as quarter past.
• 3:15 -QUARTER PAST THREE.

More and More Minutes

• If the minute hand is on 6, then it is 30 minutes after the hour sometimes people say this is half past.
• Time is HALF PAST SIX. - 6:30.
