MENTOR-MENTEE PROGRAM

  • We are half way through the semester
    • There are two required meetings this semester for the pairings
      • To earn points, submit pictures of each other meeting to canvas, this is much easier than emailing the picture as that takes longer
    • Of the people who are in the program, I have 8 submissions for the first meeting only. Please meet with your pairings, even if it's simply here during the meeting
    • Attending any AED event with your mentee will earn you an extra point for that event
    • If you have any problems with your pairing please come see me after the meeting or contact me (email, groupme, or text)

  • I have sent out new pairings to those who applied
    • Canvas should be fixed so that you guys can turn in your meet-ups. It’s under the module “Spring 2025 Mentor/Mentee Program”
      • It has the submission for the first and second mentor/mentee meet-ups as well as for medical student mentor meet-ups.

27 of 48

MENTOR-MENTEE PROGRAM

  • The medical student mentor program

    • I have sent out the pairings to the mentors and mentees, please start reaching out and set up a time to meet with them

    • If you were not selected, please reapply next year, hopefully the program will be bigger and there will be more opportunity for you to be paired with someone

28 of 48

MENTOR-MENTEE PROGRAM

  • PA student mentor program
    • It will match AED members with current PA students much like the current Mentor program now

    • I had more people than I expected that are interested so I am currently searching for a couple more PA students that would be willing to help out. If I cannot find anyone by the end of the weekend, I will have to cut some people that applied.

MENTOR-MENTEE PROGRAM

Running for the Mentorship Program Director

  • Why should you?
    • This role has given me a great opportunity to connect people within AED who otherwise probably would have never met
    • The flow of information from mentor to mentee is extremely important for the entire medical school process. Facilitating that flow has been extremely rewarding
    • There is plenty of room for growth and development for this program, so the sky's the limit.
  • I know its not exactly the flashiest title, but the experiences I’ve had this year have been amazing. It teaches you to be a leader, extremely organized, and flexibility. Please, if you have any questions about the role, come and talk to me after the meeting or contact me after!
