  • Before the fire London had wood houses next to each other with balconies that stuck out in the road like this causing fire to spread easily

THE FIRE

The people of London who had managed to survive the plague in 1665 must have thought that the year 1666 could only be better, and couldn't possibly be worse!

Poor souls…they could not have imagined the new disaster that was to befall them in 1666. (awkward) at least it killed out the last of the plaque the fire started in pudding town.

AFTER THE FIRE

  • After the fire they made their houses out of stone and cobble here are some pictures to compare not very different but now there aren't many fires today in London.
