Part 1: The Birth of Jesus

  • Chapter 1:1-18 – The Genealogy of Jesus, Jesus’s Ancestors.
  • Chapter 1:18-2:13 – Jesus is Born, Wisemen come to Israel to see Jesus proclaiming the Messiah has been born, Herod is concerned by this and hires the wisemen to report what they find to him, the Wisemen find Jesus but do not return to Herod after being warned in a dream.
  • Chapter 2:13-19 – Joseph is warned by an angel that Herod intends to kill Jesus and instructs him to flee to Egypt, Herod gives orders to kill all children under the age of 2 in Bethlehem
  • Chapter 2:19-Chapter 3 – When Herod dies an angel appears to Joseph and instructs him to return to Israel, when Joseph returns he finds Herod’s son ruling in Judea and is scared, after being warned in a dream he moves to Galilee where he settles in a town called Nazareth.

Part 2: John Baptizes Jesus

  • Chapter 3:1 - John the Baptist another Jewish preacher is Baptizing people at the Jordan river and preaches about the coming of Jesus.
  • Chapter 3:13 - Jesus comes to the Jordan River and is Baptized by John.
  • Chapter 4:1 - Jesus goes into the wilderness and is tempted by satan.
  • Chapter 4:12 - Jesus hears that John has been arrested, Jesus moves to Capernaum and begins to preach.

Part 3: Jesus Begins his Mission

  • Chapter 4:18 - Jesus calls his first disciples while walking by the sea of Galilee, their names were Peter, Andrew, James and John.
  • Chapter 4:23 - Jesus begins teaching and healing the sick throughout Galilee and begins to have a great following.
  • Chapter 5:1 - Jesus climbs a mountain to seek solitude and begins to teach his disciples.

Part 4: Jesus Continues his Mission

  • Chapter 8:1 - Jesus comes down the mountain, and begins healing again.
  • Chapter 8:18 - Jesus crosses the sea of galilee, while sailing a storm arises, but Jesus rebukes the waves.
  • Chapter 8:28 - Jesus reaches Gadarenes, here he excorcises a demon possessed man and moves the demons into some pigs, the pigs then drown themselves, and the townspeople run Jesus out of town.
  • Chapter 9:1 - Jesus returns to Capernaum and recruits another disciple named Matthew.
  • Chapter 9:10 - Jesus continues healing and teaching.

Part 5: Jesus sends out disciples

  • Chapter 9:35 - Jesus begins traveling to surrounding cities healing and teaching, and recruiting more disciples.
  • Chapter 10:1 - Jesus then summons all his disciples which is by this time twelve, and then sends them out to the surrounding cities to heal and teach, but first gives them final instructions.

Part 6: John the Baptist Dies

  • Chapter 11:1 - John writes to Jesus from prison wondering if he is the messiah, Jesus tells John about all the he has done, Jesus then praises John to the people.
  • Chapter 11:20 - Jesus continues to travel and teach.
  • Chapter 14:1 - John Dies

Part 7: Jesus continues his mission

  • Chapter 14:13 - Jesus hears the news of Johns death, in mourning Jesus leaves to find solitude and crosses the sea to evade people seeking his help but they follow him around the sea, Jesus heals their sick and feeds them miraculously with limited supplies, Jesus then recrosses the sea, while at sea he walks on water, Jesus then lands at Gennesaret.
  • Chapter 15:1 - Several Pharisees come to Jesus from Jerusalem and question Jesus.
  • Chapter 15:21 - Jesus travels to Tyre and Sidon.
  • Chapter 15:29 - Jesus returns to Galilee and once gain miraculously feeds people with limited supplies.
  • Chapter 16:1 - A group of Pharisees and Sadducees come to Jesus to question him.
  • Chapter 16:13 - Jesus then travels to Caesarea Philippi.

Part 8: Jesus foretells his death/travels to jerusalem�

  • Chapter 16:21 - Jesus begins to foretell of his death in Jerusalem, and that they must travel to Jerusalem, his disciples try to stop him but he insists.
  • Chapter 17:1 - Jesus is transfigured on a mountain with Peter, James and John as witnesses.
  • Chapter 17:24 - Jesus travels back to Capernaum, and continues to teach.
  • Chapter 19:1 - Jesus leaves Galilee and travels to the region of Judea but on the east side of the Jordan, where he continues to teach
  • Chapter 20:29 - Jesus continues onto Jerusalem, he heals a pair of blind men in Jericho on the way.

Part 9: Jesus in Jerusalem

  • Chapter 21:1 - Once Jesus reaches Jerusalem he waits outside at the mount of olives east of Jerusalem, then he sends his disciples ahead of him to prepare a donkey for him, Jesus then enters Jerusalem on a donkey where he is cheered by the locals, Jesus then heads to the temple where he aggressively confronts those who are doing business within the temple and forces them to leave overturning their tables while doing so, Jesus then leaves the city and heads back to the mount of olives for the night.
  • Chapter 21:18 - The next morning Jesus returns to the temple and is confronted by the chief priests and other elders, he preaches to them, the pharisees and Sadducees also question him, some of the pharisees begin a plot to kill him, Jesus then leaves the temple and heads back to the mount of olives.

Part 10: Jesus betrayed

  • Chapter 24:1 - Back at the mount of olives Jesus teaches his disciples, foretells of his crucifixion,
  • Chapter 26:14 - Judas agrees to betray Jesus.
  • Chapter 26:17 - Jesus has last supper with disciples.
  • Chapter 26:36 - Jesus and disciples go to a place called Gethsemane, there Judas brings police to arrest Jesus

Part 11: Jesus Crucified

  • Chapter 26:57 - The police bring Jesus to Caiaphas the Jewish high priest, Jesus is questioned
  • Chapter 26:69 - Peter denies knowing Jesus,
  • Chapter 27:1 - Jesus is then taken before Pilate and a group of Jews who are in league with the chief priest, Pilate asks these Jews what to do with Jesus and they want him to be crucified
  • Chapter 27:24 - Jesus is then crucified, and buried

Part 12: The Resurrection of Jesus

  • Chapter 28:1 - An earthquake occurs and the tomb of Jesus is opened, Jesus appears to several of Jesus’s followers and instructs them to continue the mission of spreading the gospel
